Our Mission
The mission of LD8 is to defend the unalienable rights endowed to all by our Creator by ensuring that government powers come only from the consent of the governed, and that those powers remain within their constitutionally enumerated limits. We work to identify, elect, and support Republican candidates and officials with a demonstrated commitment to this mission. We do so by educating, registering, and encouraging voters to promote the active citizenship necessary to maintain good government that is limited and accountable.
“I know no safe depository of the ultimate powers of society but the people themselves; and if we think them not enlightened enough to exercise their control with a wholesome discretion, the remedy is not to take it from them, but to inform their discretion by education.”
