The Arizona Legislative District 8 Republican Committee (“LD8,” “we,” “our”) operates this website at azld8gop.com. This page explains what information we collect when you visit the site, what we do with it, and what choices you have. We’ve tried to keep it short and plain.

The Short Version

We do not collect personal information from visitors browsing this site. There are no contact forms, no newsletter signups, and no donation forms on this website. We use a privacy-respecting analytics tool to understand which pages are popular, and we use a single cookie to remember whether Precinct Committeemen have entered the correct password for the PC Portal. That’s it.

Analytics

We use Matomo, an open-source analytics platform, to understand how visitors use the site — which pages are read most often, where visitors come from, and which links get clicked. This helps us decide what content to prioritize.

Matomo records anonymized information including:

  • Pages visited and time spent on each page
  • Approximate geographic location (city or region level, derived from IP)
  • Browser type and device type (e.g., “Chrome on iPhone”)
  • The site or search engine that referred you

Matomo is configured to anonymize visitor IP addresses and does not share data with third-party advertising networks. We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any other behavioral advertising tracker on this site.

Cookies

This site uses cookies only in one specific case: when a visitor successfully enters the password to access the PC Portal. That cookie stores a token confirming the password was correctly entered, so you don’t have to re-enter it on every page. It contains no personal information about you.

If you don’t visit the PC Portal, no cookies are set by us. (Your browser may receive cookies from third-party content embedded on the site — see “Embedded Content” below.)

You can clear cookies at any time through your browser settings.

Embedded Content

Some pages on this site embed content hosted by third parties — for example, YouTube videos, PDF files from government websites, or links to social media. When you interact with embedded content, the third party may collect data about you according to its own privacy policy. We don’t control what those services do.

If this concerns you, you can avoid it by not clicking or playing embedded content.

Donations and Volunteering

Donations to LD8 are accepted in person at our monthly meetings, not through this website. If you donate or volunteer in person, any contact information you provide is used to keep you informed about LD8 activities and to comply with applicable Arizona campaign finance reporting requirements.

A note on donor disclosure: Arizona law requires political committees to report contributor information above certain thresholds to the Arizona Secretary of State. Those reports become part of the public record. By contributing, you acknowledge that your name, address, occupation, and employer may be disclosed as required by law.

Children’s Privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us so we can remove it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top of the page. Significant changes will be announced at our monthly district meeting and in our newsletter.
